250 BHN Sheets and Plates are manufactured from alloy steel with a controlled chemical composition to achieve uniform hardness. The typical composition includes carbon 0.20–0.30%, manganese 0.80–1.40%, silicon up to 0.50%, chromium 0.40–1.00%, nickel up to 0.50%, and molybdenum up to 0.25%, with phosphorus and sulfur limited to 0.04% maximum. This composition provides a Brinell hardness of approximately 240–280 BHN, good tensile strength, excellent toughness, and reliable weldability for industrial fabrication.
