500 BHN Sheets and Plates are high-alloy wear-resistant steels with a typical composition of 0.30–0.40% carbon, 0.70–1.50% manganese, 0.80–2.00% chromium, along with nickel, molybdenum, and trace boron additions. This chemistry ensures high hardenability and uniform hardness. Mechanically, these plates achieve a hardness range of 470–530 BHN, tensile strength of approximately 1400–1650 MPa, and excellent abrasion resistance. Due to high hardness, controlled welding and forming practices are recommended.
