SA 515 Grade 70 plates and sheets are carbon steel pressure vessel plates with superior strength and toughness. Their content consists of Carbon (0.31% max), Manganese (0.79–1.30%), Phosphorus (0.035% max), Sulfur (0.035% max), and Silicon (0.13–0.45%). These plates have superior mechanical properties, including tensile strength of 485–620 MPa, yield strength of not less than 260 MPa, and elongation of 17–21%. Being suitable for moderate to high-temperature service, they possess fine weldability and toughness and are therefore best used in boilers, pressure vessels, and structural uses in severe industries.
